Visit of Prof. Weihong Zhang to the Institute of Science and Technology Innovation (ISTI), Dongguan University of Technology

The Institute of Science and Technology Innovation (ISTI) at Dongguan University of Technology had the privilege of hosting Professor Weihong Zhang, a distinguished Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Zhang is a renowned expert in structural optimization, the mechanics of manufacturing processes, and additive manufacturing, currently serving at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Northwestern Polytechnical University.

During his visit, Prof. Zhang met with faculty and researchers from across ISTI, including representatives from the SSHMC Lab. Discussions focused on advancing smart structural health monitoring, cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, and fostering cross-disciplinary collaborations. Prof. Zhang shared deep insights into the latest research frontiers in structural engineering, materials innovation, and high-performance manufacturing.
