SSHMC Lab at the 60th Anniversary of China-France Diplomatic Relations: Franco-Chinese Colloquium on Additive Manufacturing and Sustainable Development

The SSHMC Lab actively participated in the Franco-Chinese Colloquium on Additive Manufacturing and Sustainable Development, held from October 27 to 30, 2024, in Guangzhou, China, to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France.

This high-level event, organized by institutions including the French General Consulate in Guangzhou, the Institute of Research on New Materials (Guangdong Academy of Sciences), Shanghai University, the French Additive Manufacturing Association, among others, gathered leading experts, researchers, and industrial stakeholders from both countries. Its objective was to strengthen collaborations in additive manufacturing (3D printing) and sustainable development, two critical domains shaping the future of global engineering and technology.

This colloquium forms part of broader efforts by China and France to foster bilateral cooperation in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and smart cities. The emphasis on sustainable manufacturing aligns with global climate goals and the strategic need for environmentally responsible industrial transformation.

The conference featured keynote presentations, technical discussions, and networking sessions, fostering robust dialogue and exploring cooperative strategies between France and China. SSHMC Lab’s participation underscores its commitment to forging international research ties, exchanging ideas at the frontier of technology, and reinforcing the global impact of the Smart Structural Health Monitoring and Control (SSHMC) approach.
