On May 15, 2025, the SSHMC Laboratory at Dongguan University of Technology hosted a seminar by Prof. Suyuan Yu, a distinguished researcher in energy and power engineering at Tsinghua University.
Prof. Yu’s presentation, titled “The Development History of Chinese Nuclear Power and the HUALONG 1 Reactor,” offered an in-depth exploration of China’s nuclear power evolution and technological advancements. Drawing on his extensive research in fluid mechanics, aerosol dynamics, and nuclear reactor engineering, Prof. Yu provided a comprehensive overview of the HUALONG 1 reactor’s design and deployment, underscoring its significance in China’s energy security and innovation roadmap.

The seminar sparked engaging discussions among SSHMC researchers and faculty, deepening their understanding of China’s strategic energy initiatives and laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
