On May 15, 2025, the SSHMC Laboratory at Dongguan University of Technology hosted a seminar by Prof. Suyuan Yu, a distinguished researcher in energy and power engineering at Tsinghua University.


Prof. Yu’s presentation, titled “The Development History of Chinese Nuclear Power and the HUALONG 1 Reactor,” offered an in-depth exploration of China’s nuclear power evolution and technological advancements. Drawing on his extensive research in fluid mechanics, aerosol dynamics, and nuclear reactor engineering, Prof. Yu provided a comprehensive overview of the HUALONG 1 reactor’s design and deployment, underscoring its significance in China’s energy security and innovation roadmap.
